Our mission is to value the lives of women around the world

We inspire global action, connect people across borders and transform hearts and minds. Our innovative online exhibitions educate, create dialogue and build community worldwide.

Join us—be inspired, take action and invest in a more equal world for our daughters, nieces and granddaughters as well as our sons, nephews and grandsons.

We invite you to participate in I.M.O.W.'s new global online exhibition Economica: Women and the Global Economy at imow.org.

Economica explores two prominent cross-currents affecting women around the world today. On the one hand, women are the majority of the world's poor. On the other hand, women form an increasing percentage of the world's entrepreneurs, business leaders, shoppers and philanthropists. The exhibition illuminates women’s diverse experiences of the global economy and shows that while women are often uniquely impacted by economic volatility, they often also hold the solutions to major global challenges.

In this unique historical moment, women are entering workforces in growing numbers, creating income and infrastructure as microentrepreneurs, starting and running businesses and companies, moving millions of dollars as angel investors and philanthropists and generating alternative models as economists and advocates.

They are also losing their homes, struggling to compensate for rising food prices, migrating to find jobs, working in exploitive conditions, and fighting for land, property, and inheritance rights.

Economica explores these and many other facets of women’s contributions to the global economy.
